Chennai Goods Transport Association Charitable Trust was started during the year 1996 which is patronized by Chennai Goods Transport Association started in the year 1972 by stalwart and professional from the Transport Industry to safeguard the interest and welfare of the Transport community.

Philanthropic, Socio-Economic Welfare and Charitable Activities are carried out by us in Chennai Goods Transport Association Charitable Trust. For the last several years along with other Soci-Economic Welfare Activities to encourage and motivate young students, our Trust has been awarding Scholarship to them for scoring High Marks in their examinations. The amount disbursed as well as the beneficiaries are increasing every year. The CGTA Trust organizes regular Mega Health Check-up camps apart from many small camps.

The CGTA Trust contributed medicines, clothes, rations, etc… to the affected populace during determental circumstances like the Tsunami in Tamil Nadu, Earth Quake in Gujarat, Kargil War and apart from the Hand-outs, Trucks were made free of cost for the transportation of relief supplies to the affected areas.

We at CGTA Trust feel that Men of character succeed in life. Control of thoughts and deeds and steering the mind in proper direction will help one to achieve one’s goal in life.

CGTA Trust is known for the efforts taken by it to ensure adherence to traffic rules, creation of awareness on HIV and AIDS and about road safety amongst its drivers and cleaners. Occasional training camp for Drivers and cleaners are helpful in minimizing the accident.

The students scholarship programme was started in the year 2001 where Rs.16,000/- was disbursed to 6 students. Trust proud to mention that upto year 2007 an amount of about Rs.12,00,000/- has been distributed to 280 meritorious students as Scholarship of our member companies staff children.

We organize regular Mega Health Check-up camps apart from many small camps. The Mega Health Check-up included complete Chemistry and Pathology, Cardiac, Disease risk assessment. Diabetic Profile, Chest X-ray, complete Eye, ENT and Dental Check – up. Further we grant financial assistance to the staff of our member companies towards Medical Expenses for their treatment.
